After we came back from a sleepover trip to my friends’ house in South London on 29th May on a bank holiday weekend, we were welcomed by ducks in the garden! They are Mallard ducks and are occasionally found in people’s gardens where there’s a pond or bird feeds available. We don’t have any of that in our garden but we saw them 2 days in a row and was such a nice surprise.

Kids wanted to keep them as pets but our bathtubs are not made for ducks and I got put off by the amount of mess they make on our patio. So it was a mutual understanding that they didn’t return on the third day. Look forward to seeing them again next year though!

In addition, the sleep over at my friends’ house was so lovely, with BBQ in the garden and seeing their girls growing so beautifully, and the welcome back by those ducks were just the right icing on the cake.
